Rusty and his human will be exploring the Solent and visiting all the sea-dog friendly places in the area. Having only recently found his sea legs, Rusty is a new sea dog on the sailing scene.
Rusty's human was inspired to start this blog when planning Rusty's first voyage - lots of websites cater for those travelling by car but not those arriving from the sea. Our hope is to create a single space where sailors and their dogs can find the information they want for their sailing adventures.
About Rusty
Rusty is a one-year-old miniature poodle who is keen to explore and expand his sailing experiences. Rusty is mainly a city dog who will be taking part in the sailing seasons and short voyages.
His current experience is a few weeks at sea with a couple of day trips. We hope readers can learn about sailing with dogs as we learn ourselves.
About Rusty's human and boat
Rusty's human has many years of sailing experience and sails a Norfolk Smuggler. The boat is a sailing yacht with a traditional sailing rig. This means that the layout of the boat is different to your standard Beneteau or Bavaria with no individual cabins (just two saloon beds).
